Take your headphones: Facebook is testing videos with auto-play sound

Facebook video autoplay, Australia
I had an image in my mind when Facebook was going to put autoplay video ads onto the News Feed, Videos starting up, making a noise, but Facebook automatically muted those videos. So, they wouldn't make a sound unless you wanted them to. I'm sure we all like this option because mostly we use Facebook on the bus, metro, train or at workplace.

But Facebook is currently testing out autoplay video that will automatically play with sound, according to a report out from Mashable on Monday. The tests are being run only in Australia on both ads and Facebook live videos, on mobile devices. From today some Australians may notice autoplay on all types of video, including ads and Facebook Live, acting differently on their mobile app

Facebook confirmed about this test to Mashable in a statement. "We're running a small test in News Feed where people can choose whether they want to watch videos with sound on from the start, who do not want sound to play, they can switch it off in settings or directly on the video itself. This is one of several tests we're running as we work to improve the video experience for people on Facebook."
